Privacy Policy
Last updated: [date]
This privacy policy explains how [operator name] (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use dailycalculation.co.uk (“Daily Calculation”, the “site”). We keep this simple, because the honest summary is: the site is designed to work without collecting personal information about you. Your use of the site is also governed by our Terms of Use.
The calculators do not send us your data
Every calculator on Daily Calculation runs in your browser. The figures you enter are processed on your own device and are not transmitted to us, stored by us, or shared with anyone. Closing the page discards them. We cannot see what you type into a calculator, and we have designed it that way deliberately.
What we collect
Usage analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from (country/city level), and how the site performs. This involves cookies or similar identifiers and the processing of IP addresses (truncated/pseudonymised by the analytics provider). The full list is in our Cookie Policy. We use this data only in aggregate; we do not attempt to identify individual visitors.
Server logs
Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and reliability. These logs are retained for a short period under the host's own policies.
Correspondence
If you email us, we'll have your email address and whatever you send. We use it only to reply, and we don't add you to any marketing list.
Legal bases
Where UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
Running, securing and improving a free website: for server logs and aggregate analytics where consent is not required.
Collected via the cookie banner, for any non-essential cookies, including analytics and advertising cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer.
Who we share data with
We don't sell or rent personal data.
The only sharing is with the service providers named above (analytics, hosting), each acting under their own published terms, and with authorities if the law requires it.
Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, transfers rely on adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can:
- Request access to personal data we hold
- Request correction of personal data
- Request deletion of personal data
- Object to processing
- Restrict processing
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office
In practice we hold almost nothing about identifiable individuals beyond email correspondence, but to exercise any right, contact [contact email]. You can reach the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Children
The site is a general-audience information tool and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with an updated date. Material changes to how data is handled would be flagged clearly on the site.
